Botched Ink® Saline PMU Removal

Safe, non-laser lightening to refresh or correct permanent makeup.
For freckles, brows that need lightening or removal, overlined lips, and small areas of SMP.
EMERGENCY REMOVAL (WITHIN 48 HOURS)
Emergency saline removal is most effective within the first 24–48 hours, where fresh pigment can be lifted before it fully settles into the skin. If more than 48 hours has passed, the area will need to fully heal before removal can safely begin.
If you have just had permanent makeup and are unhappy with the result, or feel something has gone wrong, please contact me immediately on 07749 166290.

WHAT IS SALINE TATTOO REMOVAL?
Saline tattoo removal is a non-laser method that uses salt-based solution to lift pigment out of the skin.
The solution is gently implanted into the tattooed area, creating a controlled wound. As the skin heals and forms a light scab, pigment particles are naturally drawn up and out of the skin, gradually lightening the tattoo over a series of sessions.
DOES SALINE TATTOO REMOVAL HURT?
Most clients describe the treatment as mildly uncomfortable but very tolerable. You may feel a slight stinging sensation during the procedure, but this usually subsides within seconds.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
The number of sessions varies depending on pigment depth, density, colour, and your skin’s response. Most clients notice visible lightening after 1–3 sessions; however, full removal may require additional treatments.
A consultation allows us to create a personalised plan based on your tattoo history and desired outcome.
HOW LONG BETWEEN SESSIONS?
We allow 8–12 weeks between treatments to ensure the skin is fully healed and strong enough for the next session. Treating too soon can lead to irritation, uneven results, or trapped pigment.
IS BOTCHED INK SAFE TO USE ON ALL SKIN TYPES?
Yes. Botched Ink Saline tattoo removal is suitable for all skin tones and skin types, including sensitive skin. The mineral-based solution supports the skin’s natural healing process without harsh chemical reactions, making it ideal for brows, eyeliner, overlined lips, and corrective work.
SALINE VS LASER REMOVAL
Neither method can guarantee complete removal.
Laser removal works by breaking down pigment particles beneath the skin. Saline removal draws pigment up and out through the skin’s natural healing process.
The best method depends on many things such as the depth and density of your tattoo, the pigment that was used, your skin condition and overall goals.
HEALING AND AFTERCARE
After treatment, the skin begins to dry within 1–2 hours, forming a thin, light scab. This will naturally flake away over 7–10 days, taking lifted pigment with it.
Healing is typically calm and controlled, with no ongoing bleeding, no excessive weeping, and minimal irritation when aftercare is followed correctly.
First 48 Hours (Critical Healing Phase):
Keep the area completely dry.
Do not sweat or wash the area.
Do not apply any creams or products.
Avoid touching the area.
This dry healing phase helps maximise pigment removal and reduces irritation.
After 48 Hours:
You may use your aftercare in a very thin layer to support healing.
Important:
Do not pick or remove the scab prematurely. Doing so can lead to skin damage, scarring, infection, and reduced results.
Ongoing Care (Up to 6 Weeks):
Avoid makeup on the area.
Avoid sun exposure and active skincare.
No chemical peels, swimming, or hot tubs.
Full skin healing takes 6–8 weeks, which is why treatments are spaced accordingly.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT
Immediately after treatment, the area may appear slightly red and dry. Within 48 hours, a thin scab forms. As healing progresses, the area may look lighter, patchy, or slightly cloudy. This is normal and will settle as the skin regenerates.
WHY DO BROWS SOMETIMES LOOK DARKER FIRST?
This is part of the process. Pigment from deeper layers is brought to the surface, which can temporarily make the area appear darker before it lightens over time.
HOW LONG DOES HEALING TAKE?
Surface healing takes approximately 7–10 days. Full skin recovery takes 6–8 weeks.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
Mild redness, tightness, or slight swelling can occur in the first few days. Most complications arise from incorrect aftercare, such as picking scabs, applying products too early, or having treatments too close together.
RESULTS AND EXPECTATIONS
Saline tattoo removal is a gradual process. Only a percentage of pigment is removed during each session, and results vary based on pigment type, skin condition, and depth.
Complete removal cannot be guaranteed, but significant lightening and correction can be achieved.
